For about the last week when I start the car up the left tail pipe has coughed up some whitish smoke. Just started out of the blue, I don't like to see anysmoke but seeing that it is there I need to address it. Where should I start?

White smoke is normally from water. Could be anything from condensation in the exhaust system to a head gasket leak.

Is it the blue smoke that you really have to be worried about?

How severe is the white smoke? If it is a cloud and not just a few puffs upon initial start it could be an injector stuck open. I had a similar incident on my C4. I thought it was severe but, only had to find out which injector was the culprit and replace. Good luck and I hope it is not anything worse.
