I just ordered some Kooks headers this morning, pretty excited this will be my first major mod, had to put on the credit card but who cares!
What I did want to find out is will the car need to be tuned after the install? I've done some searches here and noticed that some mods the car will "tune itself"?
My car is a '06 6 speed, I'm also looking at one of those Diablo Preditors and may order that also today, not sure, I'm still researching that one.
Please let me know on the tune question. Thank you.

I'm really not familar where everybody is at in California, but I would look into a tune from one of the venders such as DTS over any hand held. With further mods, handhelds become less usefull, and most of the time the owner sells them at that point.

Thanks for the tip, with that being said I should get more parts installed on the car before getting over to a shop for a tune right? Doesn't make sense spending $500 bucks or so to have tune put on headers than another tune after CAI for example.
More reasons for me to find some mods! :thumbsup3:

If you are planning on installing more mods later (within a month or two), you may want to wait for the tune. However we will retune for a much smaller fee for addional mods.
We are also running an engine/suspension tuning special right now so you might want to take advantage of it before it expires at the end of the month. :D

Yeah you should wait until you have most of the mods that you will want then get a tune.

You do not need a tune per say,but the 02 sensor will need to be adjusted to not throw a CEL.Other then that, you're good to go.

:iagree: Long Tubes in general will end up throwing rear o2 sensor codes as well as cat efficiency codes. It may not happen today or tomorrow but it will happen.
They don't mean that anything is wrong with your engine per se. But the cat design on long tubes is quite different than stock as well as their location in general.

:goodpost: Get a handful of parts installed than get car tuned at one time.

Get all your mods together in a pile, install them and then bring over to tuner.

how is the O2 sensor adjusted? i just found a pretty good deal on headers, xpipe and intake and im thinking about getting it... but dont know of any tuners in northwest arkansas just yet. what are to downfalls of not getting the car tuned? also... if i where to get a tune would another tune be recomended for the addition of after market mufflers?
