I was wondering why the clutch is Dot 4 and the brakes use Dot 3? Is this for any reason because from what I can see the only difference is the boiling point and Dot 4 is a little higher? Can one use Dot 4 for the brakes for more reliability?

I would continue running the Dot 3 for the brakes. Or use an upgraded fluids? I'm reaching on this one, wish could help more.

Dot 3 brake fluid is just fine for street use. If you ever decide to track(rr) your car, it's not acceptible and if you drive hard is likely to boil, which means brake failure. I know from personal experience!
Dot 4 fluid when combined with after market brake pads designed for higher sustained heat temps (brought on by road race conditions) are the ticket if your at HPDE event....
Most folks who want Dot 4 use ATE Super Blue, Castrol SRF, Motul or equivalent.
PS. I wouldn't recommend Dot 5 for track use, it won't absorb any moisture. To quote Raceshopper's site:
DOT 5 fluid is not hygroscopic, so as moisture enters the system, it is not absorbed by the fluid, and results in beads of moisture moving through the brake line, collecting in the calipers .
Good luck.
