Does anyone else here get the idea that others think the C3 is the least liked Vette in the whole lot of them?? I for one think that it is the coolest style!! This is my first time on this site so I will see what the general consensus is here!!:)

I think we all take pride in our Vettes whether it be a C3 or what ever we have. I personally enjoy the lines a C3 has. On the same note all the newer Vettes are bad a$$ cars!

C3's, then C2's, then C6's. I really don't like C4&5's

I think my 69 Vert is a great car.

The fender flares and "roundness" of the fender are in my opinion the best part of the C3's...oh and the hoods. Kinda hard to see over the end of the hood but you get Very good at judging distance when parking lol *ive bumped a couple things* :smack:

I like Vettes in this order:

C3, C2, C1, C4, C6

I don't care for the looks of the C5. I'm sure it drives 100x better than my '70, but I feel they went too European or Japanesse with the exterior. It's no different than any other car that's had lineage. I really like the new T-birds and the 55-57 T-birds...But everything in-between, I don't care for.

I like the C3's myself, I only drove one once and it was a very fun drive! On another note, are you familiar with Texas Roadhouse over in Milford? Great ribs!

:iagree: after watching barrett jackson 07 ,I saw a 78 pace car with 147original miles on it , with all the factory plastic on the interior absolute brand new condition sell for 42k ,i think you may have a point ,I thought it would have sold for a lot more judging by what some of the fords and mopars were going for

When I bought my C3, I just wanted to fix it up and sell it, to make a little money for my C5. After driving it, I literly fell in love with the style and all the looks I get when I drive it. I love my C5, but for a Sunday drive to get attention, it has to be my 80 Coupe!:iagree:

After all, the C3's have a very distinct style. I've only ridden in a '58, '63, and of course my own '80 C3, so I can't say anything about the latter years. Ah loves ma C3! :cheers:

The C3 does have a kind of in-your-face styling that may take awhile to get used to, but I get a lot more looks driving the LT-1 than I do with the C5!!

I like my 76, now that I have made it perform.

Would not trade my C3 for any other vette on road. My wife and I take it to town once a week and it sure turns heads. I store my dads 62 in my shop and get it out maybe once a month. Dont get me wrong I like to drive it but the C3 just spells vette

I think some of the reason the C3 gets a bad rap is due to the quality issues that affected all American cars in the 70's. Emissions and low HP didn't help either. The C3 is a great car and easy to build up any way you want. I love my '80 and if I had a choice of any other vette, it would be a C2.

After my c4 buildup is done im gonna get a late c3 and go for a knuckle draggin blown Big block dual carb chambered side pipe buildup. The C3 is like walking into a european restaraunt and smashing table with a sledgehammer screaming "STEAK!!"

Gotta say the new vehicles may be fast but I believe they lack the soul and style of the C3's. I've had many, many marques- but this one just moves me the right way..emotionally and physically!

the c3 isnt my favorite, especiall the later year c3's. I like the chrome bumpers on the early C3's but the c4 is my least favorite. Basically I would push a 70 rather than drive a 90.

Man, the c3 corvettes are the only 'vettes in my price range, exept for the c4s, which are pale imitations, at best! Would love a '58-'62, '63-'67, but I am not made of money! anyway, as far as I am concerned, we can still look down our noses at the c4 crowd. They may have more power, better handling, but when it comes to style, they just don't do it for me. The c5s and c6s are cool lokking cars, but they are to slick and civilized. A corvette is supposed to be a little rough around the edges, ya know what I mean?

I think that alot of the newer Vettes mod themselves to the hilt to make the car look better and more stylish, but with the C3 crowd we are already made stylish!! We don't have to do that, just put gas in and look good!

C3's are by far my favorite! So much character and beautiful lines! IMO, alot of the cars now just look the same. As the late C. Heston said "From my cold dead hands" that is how you would have to get me out of my C3!

Since you are all bad talking all the other models, all I have to say is the C3's were the most mass produced under powered and my least favorite vettes ever produced. It was a good thing that GM's 350 engine had to be the most eligable power plant to be modified and is virtually indestructable. Keep the oil changed and it will run forever.!!! Now the BIG BLOCK 454 is another story. You can't touch them for less than 40K!! Thanks to the energy crisis most of the C3's were served up with the 350.:party: :party:

What I was saying is that most of the C3's were equipped with 350's due to the energy crisis and were known to be less HP than the BIG BLOCKS. I still don't care for the body style and my fuel injected new tin can is lighter and puts out more horespower off the showroom floor. No Mods needed!! Not to mention that it has F1 inspired supension and braking. Technology over old school is ones preference and this is mine!! To each his own!!!

Damn guys ease up and quit going at it like a couple of kids fighting over the same girl in school. Everybody has their likes and dislikes, but calm down and chill out. Hell if I had it my way there would be a vette from every generation in my shop.

Im sure if you hang on to any vette long enough they will be worth more money then we paid for them. That is as long as we are using oil refined gasoline. Will we all have to convert them to ethanol??? I don't care what kind of Vette you drive as long as you love it!! I agree, as long as you love the car you have and stick up for it, thats your preference! But remember, if the new vettes were so good, a Cheap body GTO wouldn't have the motor in it:) I personally love all corvettes equally, but wasnt too fond of the split window and ugly riviera window of the early 60's. Love what you have and share the love equally:)

I would have to say that the C3 body is so much cooler than any other body style, I raelly dont liek the c4s but thats just me, I only wish I would have went with a 70 and below instead of a 79 but I could pass up the deal I got on it, I get another later in life, only 21 still got time! :party:

All I know is that I love my C3, I love all before my C3 and I love all that came after my C3! I am just a Corvette lover and I agree with that other fella in that if I could I would have one of every generation in my garage!!! What a sight that would be!

I am new here but I know what I like and that is my C3, easy to work on and I think that it has the nicest lines out of all the gen's!

The C3 is by far the best looking vette. Its funny too because when you see one they instantly know its a corvette. Even people who aren't really into automobiles can point out a C3 as a vette.

I just bought my first Vette. It's a beautiful Black 81. Yes it's a lil under powered but it is easily the most fun car I've ever driven and i get the thumbs up all the time. I am going to fix a lil here and a lil there and leave it to my grandson. I've had a 67 Chevell/Malibu 350hp 327 and an 84 Z28 and there is no comparison, they were just cars.
I just love take the tops off and go cruisin any time night or day.
I can't explain the feeling of sitting in my shark. I kinda feel like Sonny Crockett drivin his car at night with the cool music and i have the CD.

C3 is one of the only models that from a distance you don't have to ask, what was that? Now adays, most cars in general all look the same from a few yards away. They were under powered from the factory but, for a few bucks that can be fixed and you'll have a fun car to drive.

MY un-original yellow painted C3 is my release valve from life. Had a 1974 in 1980 for 6 months and had to sell it. Just found myself again filling the tank of my recently purchased "75. Never again will I let this one go!

I have a C3 and a C5 Z06. I like them both, but seems I spend most of my time on the C3. Nothing like the Stingray stance and it looks like its moving standing still.:burnout:

I just got it and I love it 1979, I felt at first that no one liked me to. but everone is helpful

when i talk about my car to people they ask me why i didnt just get a newer c4 and then i start laughing in my head, i think the c4's where the worst body style, way too retro for me. The flares on the c3 are just way too irresistible and how the hood has that "old muscle car" appeal to it

The supervisor of the janitors at my plant use to drive a C4. I always thought it looked cheap and without the class of the older Vettes.
I like all the Vettes from the C3 back to the first ones made. The Sting Rays being the best. I've had several hot rods and none of them are more fun to drive than my C3 and it looks good too. It's rare that when i go out that i don't get a thumbs up or a compliment.

Hello, growing up in the late 60,s the C 3 was the corvette stingray to have. I could not afford one being a high school student, but anytime one went by, I would have to watch it till it got out of sight. A good friend of mine went to viet nam and got his left hand blown off, and uncle sam sent him home with a check. First thing he did was to buy a 69 big block. His rating in the neighborhood went up with everyone wanting to get a ride. By the way, he did receive a chrome hook which he was able to steer the car with no problem. After all these years I finaly own my first corvette, a 78 pace with a 502 4 speed, I now know what a little piece of heaven is.

I think all Corvette owners have sound reasons for owning the particular generation car they drive. When presenting an argument as to why you own your Vette, there is no bad argument.

For me, I've always felt that the C3 was the quintessential signature of the Corvette legacy. I know that there are many good arguments for and against this assertion, but in my humble opinion that's how I feel and I'm afraid my mind is made up.

Certainly as advancing technology makes it's impact on later generations it enhances their performance and quality. This of course is why I'd never turn down a C6 if you gave me one. :thumbsup3: But for me, there is not a more beautiful car on the road than the C3.

I'm a C5 owner, but my dream vette is a 69 convertible. Growing up as a kid playing with Hotwheels in the 70's makes me identify the long lines of the C3's with the name cvorvette. Maybe one day I will have one.:cheers:

Gm removed the C3 from redheaded stepchild status when they came out with the C4.

And that's only because of the early C4 styling.

Don't really know where you get that idea from.Everyone knows that the C-3 has the unique body design.Even other C series corvette owners have stated that before.There have been voting polls asking what body design is the coolest and the answer is the C-3. look it up.

in my opinion c1,c2,c3 were simpler muscle cars c4,c5,c6 are complicated refined cars,i just got rid of a 92 c4 i liked it alot.....................just got a 78 c3 ..........there are certain similarities when sitting behind the wheel of all vettes .whish i could have one of every generation.as vette owners i think we should stick up and defend all the years.
However i think that the up and coming vette to restore and the model that will be going up in price will be the C3 (C3 last of the old school vettes !!)

I Love any Corvette, but, the C3 is my favorite!

I have an LS2 block sitting right next to the computer in a crate, but being the 21 year old I am...I AIN'T GOT MONEY FOR THIS THING! Corvettes are my thing though, and I'm definitely not giving in to the Japanese invasion as EVERY other person in my generation is. I'm the Corvette Kid around town and that's the way it's gonna be FOREVER. :driving:

Considering the evolution of the styling over the past 50+ years, its inevitable that some folks are going to have preferences. Nobody is right or wrong ... I personally love the C3's, I've owned two of them. I still miss my Can-Am White/Bright Blue 427/400 coupe. I've never been as fond of the solid axle 53-62 era versions, but again its up to the individual and each generation has its own merits and important place in the ongoing development of the marque. To me, ALL Corvettes regardless of year are works of art.

I have a 77 and it turns heads thats what counts if you know what i mean :drool5:

I was 14 years old when the new C-3 body style emerged in 68 and it broke my heart caus' I loved the C-2's (63 especially) but the C-3 grew on me and it diddnt' take long although I still love the C-2's. I now own a 78 SAE which I love. C-4's dont do much for me, no offense just a personal preference though I do see some nice ones out there. It took about a year for me to get int the C-6 but now I cant wait to get my hands on a new ZR-1 hopfully soon.

Back when I had my silver t top 69 I had a hitch and pulled a 66 mph Dutchman 4 passenger tunnel hull boat with silver flake over a black base coat. The two of them looked fine. I loved that 69!

The difference is the C3 is a muscle car the C4 is a sports car. Badmouthing an other fellows ride don't make yours run any better.

I HAVE A 75 C3 AND A 87 C4 love both but for different reasons.had to build motor to 390 hp on 75 for more fun though.:cheers: :catfight:

Nothing but love for all of them! I like the C3's for many reasons, but one is that the styling now...really resembles what the C3's started.

if i didnt like it i wouldnt have got it, scared of the insurance though

First vette i drove was a C3, Think it's a great looking vette..

I kept mine when I got the newer c5. I really enjoy driving it. It is entirely a different car.

Never apologize for what you believe in! We usually see more people looking at the older vettes than the new ones! We get a lot of thumbs up and drive a 77!

I dig 'em baby C3's had 2 kept the '75. numbers match put 1.6 roller tips and a .444/.467 cam(before the 1.6's went in) stock springs.Edelbrock 750 with mechanical secondaries stock Q jet manifold with the Edelbrock adapter. Added a 14 inch electric fan on the inside of the radiator with the stock steel fan engine runs @ 190.Switched to dual exhaust(had to here that cam, it's good for the soul).:burnout: :thumbsup:

Last time i was out in my 69 The sun was out and ACDC was on thunder struck. Really had a good time, It's my fav car by along way:thumbsup:

I hear you brother. After I pumped my '82 up to over 300 horsepower, it made it REAL fun to drive. Now it runs like a 'Vette should run. FAST!

I have never felt that way, I have always liked my C3 and that is all that matters to me!

If you line up all the generations up side by side, a non-vette person can identify the c-3 as a vette the easiest.

I think the c3 is the best body style yet, but love the ride , power and feel of the c5 and c6

Does anyone else here get the idea that others think the C3 is the least liked Vette in the whole lot of them?? I for one think that it is the coolest style!! This is my first time on this site so I will see what the general consensus is here!!:)
there are other body styles? NOT TO ME! C3 s are my all time favorite you just cant beat the shark in my eyes
