How often is it ok to wax these cars? I find myself washing and waxing every week and a guy at the last Cars and Coffee told me that I can get some nice build up from waxing so frequent?

Thanks Tim

Tim luv the car. I find myself taking care of mine more often than necessary. Use Zaino which actually looks better with additional layers, don't have any build up problems at all, just a deep wet shine.

Some products don't seem to bond very good to itself even after it's cured. You could put on 10 coats of wax on the car and not end up with better coverage then a couple of coats. Some products even contain cleaners that will strip previous coats of wax. I think usually more then a couple of coats of a products does not make much difference. If you want to take off the old wax there are paint cleaners on the market or you can use a 50/50 water and rubbing alcohol solution to take the old wax off. Also most sealants won't bond to a wax very good. If you polish your car it will also take off previous coats of wax.

The following pictures were taken after:
(1) Polishing with menzerna Micro Polish.
(2) Applying 1 coat of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant
(3) Appying 1 coat of Pinnacle Souveran paste was after letting the sealant cure over night.

Has anyone used the "Griot's" orbital machine? Getting older and lazier about useing all that elbow grease. Anyone use ANY machine to apply & take off wax?

I use both a Metabo rotary and a Porter Cable random orbital polishers to polish my cars but I usually apply a wax or a paint sealant by hand. A random orbital polisher with with a non-cutting finishing pad to apply the wax and a micro-fiber bonnet to remove the wax works good and is faster. These days there's a lot of great products on the market (both Carnauba waxes and paint sealants) that go on and off so easy that it's a pleasure to do it my hand.

I use Meguires paint cleaner, then the polish. After that I use the Basic Turtle Wax Carnuba. I wax it a few times with it.

Sometimes I get a bit OCD with it.

By using this type wax create a build up?

I have been using a product called Blackfire. Anyone have any experience with that. The finish looks good but I don't have a lot of experience to compare it with.

I use Zymol Cleaner Wax. Recommended to me by a C3 Corvette owner.
