Hello
Are you replacing the 84/5/6 gear ribbon or updating to mid 86- 96 Regulator?
The ribbon gear that came stock on your 84 is easy to replace.Hardest part is drilling two aluminum rivets. If your updating to the new style regulator there are two holes in the bottom of the door you must drill, Power plug on window motor will need to be spliced on and a lot of window adjusting , But not to hard, If you run in to a problem some one will have the answer on the site.

I have never heard of anyone replacing the regulator with the same style, because it malfunctioned. As was stated, if you are up grading to the later scissors style regulator, fine. Otherwise it is likely that all you need is the rack or plastic ribbon that you can buy at any auto parts store. You will find it on the "Help" parts rack in the display area. The label says it is for a Plymouth or other Mopar van. That is the correct item, but it will have to be shortened when you install it.
