On my 2005 C6, in the center of the dash is that a speaker there? If so why? Seems like a odd spot to have a speaker?

Yes it is, and yes it is!

That center speaker is a mish-mash of the right & left channel signals and its intent is to "clarify" the soundstage. Honestly I think it's there just to put something there, but then I'm not a fan of the stock systems period.

Some folks have removed it and reported they prefer the sound saying it gives better stereo separation. Some folks removed it and put it back in cause they liked it better with it. As always, in the ear of the listener.

:iagree:

Do speaker shops even replace that one? That would be a pain in the a$$ to get to!

I've not even noticed it, is it a Bose speaker also or a cheapo that GM tossed in there?

It's a Bose in the Bose system and a Delco in the non-Bose.

It's fairly easy to get to, it's also useless.

Yeah, a lot of folks have, but personally I think it's pointless. You're just polishing a turd.
