Started my vette today as i do every week, and SYS is flashing three times every minute or so. Anyone know what this means? The car is running great and starts right up. :wtf:

SYS flashing every 15 seconds means a fault code in the CCM (NOT the ECM nor the PCM). Usually it signals a weak battery.

I would like to know what this means also my SYS light has been flashing for a long time. Some said it was a ground problem .

You will have to scan it for codes. SYS means a fault in one of the CCM monitored functions. It will not be a driveline feature, but one of the accessory circuits.

You hit it right on the head, put a battery charger on my battery today for a couple of hours, started the car up and no SYS flashing. Checked alternator and it is fine, probably need a new battery, but i will wait until spring and buy an optima. Thanks for the info!!

Don't buy an Optima. They have been getting bad reviews and cost way too much money. Just a quality battery is all you need.

Wow...i didn't know that they have been getting bad reviews. Guess i will go in a different direction then,but i will definately replace it come spring time. Thanks again! :cheers:

I know this sounds elementary, but I just purchased my 92 and it was flashing "SYS" also. I thought I had some major electrical problem, but I started with pulling out all fuses, check condition and reinstall/replace...once I did, everything worked fine...I would have to agree with some of the others that maybe just a weak connection somewhere...but start at fuses first...might save you some time guessing...DDBS:thumbsup3:
