i am prety sure your swap wont work 1985 to 1988 are a match and 89 to 91 are a match and when moving up to a 58mm from a 52mm port matching to the manifold might be required if your trying to get a little extra kick out of your motor for cheap try a helix power tower throttle body spacer you can get an extra 20 hp for around $100 other things are big mouth manifolds adds 20 to 25 hp $500 large big mouth tube runners another 10 to 20 hp for $500 good luck on your quest for power:burnout:

It could hurt throttle response and transition, however. Not a good idea even if it does interchange.

thanks for your input:beerbang: I am actually looking at a set up right now for it, it is a lingenfelter super ram set up. would it be wise to do a better cam or anything else to the motor, I think I am going to get a motor to build while I run the stock one for now but if you can make any suggestions they would be appreciated as well as considered. Thank you for your time:cheers:

The biggest bottle neck in your engine is the stock TPI intake manifold. The Super Ram is a good mid range intake manifold. Stick with small tube headers and a moderate cam and you will have a great driver with plenty of mid range for daily driving. Still, you won't have any use for a 58 mm TB.
