Hi I'm new here with a 1984 with over 160,000 miles on the stock motor. I just bought the car for $4,800 and the car is in poor condition, I'm looking to get it looking good and of course reliable on the road. I have a low mile 305, and was wondering will this be a ok engine to put in my new 1984 C4? I now it will be a little less power but that is ok, just want a reliable engine with out having to spend a fortune?

Its your car, If you want a 305 in it then go for it. It won't cost you anything if you already have it too. It all looks the same going down the road too, looks good.

I see no problem in putting in whatever engine you want to put in. If you already have an engine than all you have to worry about is the install!!
