My 93 red Leather seats need to be cleaned up. Has anyone had any success with the cleaner and dyes you can purchase?

Thanks,
RogerB

Hi Roger - Welcome to the site... I personally like to use leather conditioner by McGuiars Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes... these whips work excellent. Regarding areas that need have some fading?, I believe there are dyes that you can purchase at certain auto stores that should do the trick!

:) I Agree, never used dyes myself, but have heard there are some dyes you can get in auto stores

simple Green and a towel to clean, Leather lotion to moisturize. I purchased a vette last month that has red leather interior. It was stored on a lot with some fire trucks. The Simple Green has to sit for a few seconds to penetrate the dirt. But man can you tell the difference.

Simple green will clean just about anything! I thought it may be a bit harse for leather, but that is why you are using the leather lotion after? I've been using the Armoral Leather wipes?

I have redyed the seats on the sides of a 1984 (silver) that I once owned, it worked perfectly. You need to use a spray gun to apply it. I never tried the aresol can stuff for dying yet.

well are the seats faded, dirty,or cracked?well i dont suggest putting any house hold or garage cleaners on them cause yeah some of these might work but they can leave a mess on your jeans or even destroy a nice suit.those quick fix's like gas or oils might work at first but can thin leather seats and even eat away at the seat foam it self...if it needs to be dyed then have it done by a pro because donin a mickey mouse job on a Corvette hurts the reputation of the car itself. midamericamotorworks.com services C4 seats to the factory finish just like new but its a walet buster if you want a seat with 0 sit down hours on them...but its worth it....check it out...
