This winter I plan to beef up the HP from my supercharged C5 and wanted to see what power these transmission can handle. Second what sort of mods can be done to a transmission, any gains? Transfer of power to the ground? thanks all for your comments

I would call DTE, RPM or performance transmission shop. I know people with both auto's and manual transmissions that are behind some serious power. One of the guys in my auto club has over 900HP in a Mustang. Actually now that you have me thinking he has rebuilt that tranny 2 times in last year alone!

I would recommend RPM or Tremec.

We're an RPM Transmission dealer, and use their level 5 trans in every high HP car we build. Feel free to let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
Procharged Vette, I didn't see if you had a M/T or A/T. PM me your vehicle info, and projected horsepower goals and I can help you choose the right options,
Ed

Good advice throughout this post. Alot of people just want to pump up there power but fail to beef up the one area that really needs to be beefed up. This would be the tranny and the rear. If people would concentrate on these areas first then go to the power after, alot of problems will be avoided.

Very good point, while the original poster is at it, and the car is all apart, that's a good time to install some heavy duty output shafts in the rear diff. A few hundred dollars now will save a lot more money/headache later.
