Hey guys just got a Sony Alpha 100 and I'm throwing up a test shot. I still can't upload into the sites database, very perplexing! lol

Looks good man! I just did some "fake hdr" manipulating of the pic to see what I could get. Not sure it's an improvement but I've been toying with this new program so I thought I'd give it a shot!

Hey Carlton! Cool, I used your awesome website alot when I swapped my interior lighting to red. It's a real pleasure to "meet" ya!!!!

You should show me a few tricks with these new fangled DSLRs sometime!!!! I'm old school, Cannon A-1 but at least I can use all my Cokin filters... lol

That was an untouched JPEG right out of the camera. I can definitely see the saturation and brightness increase. Did you do that prior to the HDR renduring or is that part of the program? I've been playing in the RAW so to speak and it's a rough learning curve, I don't know when to quite!

Take care

Photo looks great, are those calibers painted or powder coated?

Man everyone is getting all crafty with photos these days. I don't know the first thing about that stuff. But can say you have a slick looking ride.

That's Duplicolor Ceramic Calpier paint believe it or not. They really turned out good....

Thanx BB. The camera takes such clear shots that while I was looking at this one I noticed I have NOT been cleaning my front spoiler very well! LOL

Glad you like the site! I haven't been updating it as much lately, but look for TONS of videos next summer :D

Here is a link...a LONG read but if you have time def. worth it - http://www.naturescapes.net/072006/rh0706_1.htm

Describes what HDR is exactly. Very cool effects can be made overall (almost fake looking). Here is an example (I am still learning and suck but you get the point).

The first picture would be a normal "point and shoot" exposure...normally overexposing the sky and other bright areas to lighten up the car so it is able to be seen. HDR essentially takes multiple exposures (2 steps apart...3 pictures ranging up to however many...normally the more the better for tone mapping and what not) and then a program "puts" them together and you mess with different settings to show both shadows and brighter areas (so the car is bright but the sky is dark...etc.)

Thanx for the link! That is pretty slick, I would imagine it's alot easier then screwing around with masks and layers to get the same effect no? I've played with layers and masks to bring back the sky which as you said is sacrificed for the correct exposure on the subject... I've also bracketed and then tried to "stitch" em together via masks/layers with varying results...

Cool, thanx!

That is some cool effects that you can get with this program!! The pics look soo much better in my opinion. Now I just need to get rid of my 1991 poloroid camera and get a new one! This way I can start taking some nice pics!

:thud: Dang that car is amazing!! How long have you owned this car? Did you do all the work yourself? I'm rebuilding a 2003 that I wrecked.

Carlton I just did a quick cheat using Nik Brillance and Warmth filter and then an Unsharpen Mask. I know this isn't a very contrasty photo per se but it's something to play with...
