How many have picked up one of those Diablo Preditors or similiar? Can you do custom tuning other than pre-discribed tunes that it comes with?

HPTuners or EFILive (um, actually HPTuners)

If you are serious about tuning -- you are not going to stop modding......headers, intake, cam, etc

With HPT or EFILive, you can re-tune with each upgrade. Can't do that with a handheld.

And yes, the HPTuners software *is* somewhat user friendly...it is the EFI terms and theories that are difficult....

:iagree: also if you have your mind set on a hand held tuner there are two popular units out there, the Diablo and Hypertechs Hyperpac :thumbsup3:

You also need to realize that any tune you apply or have applied to your engine that changes the tune GM put on it will probably void any warranty you have. But its your car, your money and your decision.

Hey thanks guys. I ended up just getting the Diablo, actually it arrived Friday and in a couple hours I'm going to install the performance tune that is on this thing. I'm pretty excited to see what changes it makes to the car.

Any thing I need to watch out for during the tuning process?

I get a pro to do it, they know how to get the most out of the mods that you have.

No reason you can't learn to do it yourself. The learning curve is steep but if you have resonably good computer skills and don't mind learning the lingo and how things work, you can do an exceptional job because you always have the car and can log everything about it any time you wish.

Happy Tuning!! :D :D :D

Those tuner programmers are sure popular but I would rather have someone who does this full time tuning the car.

I'll turn the wrench but will leave the computer stuff to the computer techs.
