How do I get this open now?? Isn't there a tool for this?

Eckler's (amongst others) also sells an "Emergency Hood Release" cable kit which allows you to open the hood by pulling a cable located (discretely hidden) under the windshield wiper on both sides of the vehicle.

I just happened to install mine about one week before my hood release cable snapped on the drivers side, just like yours. I HIGHLY reccommend the kit once you get yours open (although you can make your own, if you're so inclined).

Don't you need a special tool for this job?
