I don't want to put a indash nav unit and have seen these portable ones all over the place, but really don't know much about nav units. Whats a good navigation unit that i can have plugged in and easily remove when not in use? thank you

I have the Magellan Crossover, It was a little more than alot of the portable units (I paid $580). It has a 3.5" screen, 3d graphics, touch screen. I like it. Garmin or Magellan are two different brands I would feel good about.

I have a Garmin in my boat and never had any problems.

I just got the Garmin C550, came down in cost about $150 in the past six months. Very nice unit, not as thin as a Nuvi, easy removal from windshield, (don't suggest sticking to dash with heavy duty adhesive disc). Work with phone bluetooth as well-check compatibility phone models first.

It cost you $150? Or you saved $150?
