How in the world do you replace the bulb in the front bumper (amber) running light? I cannot reach it.

Are you talking about the side lights? The ones you have to reach in from the front wheel well to get to?

It takes alittle patients but it will be rewarding. First open the hood and turn on the head lights. Remove the plastic housing around the head lamp, it has 3 phillips screws holding on. Remove the little hood support screwing it out . Now you can reach in there and release the lamp holder and replace the lamp. It looks difficult but it is very easy to do.

:iagree: That is exactly how I replaced mine on my 02. The key is to remove the bolt with the rubber cap that supports the hood. Removing it make reaching lamp to remove a lot easier. You will need to rotate the lamp socket to remove it. Don't forget to put di-electric greas on the new lamp.

My hands are small enough to reach into the front brake duct area, lower the brake duct, and then stick my hand through and get to the bulb. For example, if you are doing the driver's side bulb:

1. Move the brake duct down, out of your way.
2. Stick your LEFT hand in with your palm facing up (you don't have to stick it in that far).
3. Rotate your hand to the right and you should be touching the bottom of the socket.
4. Rotate the socket (I can't remember which way as I have a Tiger Shark now) and it should come out of the housing.
5. Pull it out the duct opening. It won't come out very far, just far enough to change the bulb.

After doing it about 30 times, I got so I could do it before the car would fill up with gas at the gas station. Then I decided to fix the problem that was causing the bulb to blow in the first place because those bulbs are not cheap.

That picture should help you figure out how far to stick your hand in. You can also see why the bulb keeps blowing. That whole housing has to be replaced in order to fix it.

You can also drop the bottom panel (http://www.pc-surgeon.net/images/cforum/instructions/Front%20Facia%20Close-Out%20Panel%20Removal.pdf) and go in that way. That is the way the service manual instructs you to do it.

Send me the recipe, we have possums and racoons here in California also. Possums here are so dumb and slow that they actually play possum when you get close to them.

Yea they do, until you try and pick one up. At that point, they turn into some nasty little bastards!

I have an 01 and very easy to change the runninig lights which is also the blinker. The plastic housing is on a spring and you can lift it up enough to take out the old blub and put in the new one. (just enough!!) Have a tool or something with a rubber end so not to scratch the paint for support. Lift gently from the center bottom of the lens (outside the car) and slip the support under to hold up the lens. The support will need to be about 1/1/2 to 2 inches thick. Once lifted peek in and you will see the socket. The socket is twisted in with a tab lock. With pliers or channel lock release the tab lock and twist counter clock wise and the socket will drop out. Very easy and takes 2 minuits.

Look at post #14. If you replace the housing, your lights will stop blowing.
