I got a ride in a new C6 yesterday and thought the car was beautiful. What I liked the most was the push button start. I was wondering is there a way to put a push start deal in my C5 (2001)? Whats involved and where can I pick up or shop around. thanks

Tammy :p

I'm sure that would be a big job, would be willing to bet you have to mess around with the computer. Anything is possible, this thread has my interest. So count me in

Wouldn't you be needing a whole computer from a C6?

The trick is going to be getting a resistor to match your VATs pellet that's in your current key. There was one kit that I saw, I think.

Are you guys still interested in messing with this?

Who has this kit? Wouldn't all your concerns be answered in the kit? What was the cost of this kit? I personally like the idea, if its realistic to install. If not it was worth to look at.

LOL That isn't the half of it! If I were to do it I'd probably place the actual key ignition switch in the center console in place of the cigar lighter/power doohickey. then the push switch where the key ignition switch was in the dash....

That would seem a bit of a process just to start the car? I'll stick with the key. :D

LOL Naw, I'd leave the key in and just push the button when I wanted to go.

:willy_nilly: I'll give you master minds some credit on the brain storming, but what about just anyone walking up to your car? LOL now they would be able to start your car and take off? Now you have me thinking, there would be alot of work to get that to work properly!

One of the few bennies of being where I live is that we never lock up anything, even "in town". But if I were worried I'd pull the key from the center console.... it would be awesome to tie in some sort of kill switch with the remote key fob activated when the doors are locked via the fob and visa versa.
