Can't figure this or find this code. Its from a 2002 C5 and the temp guage is not working right?

DTC P0116 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Performance

I would suggest checking the coolant temp sensor on the drivers side, front of the cyl. head., make sure it hasn't come unplugged or something, if the connection is good, have the sensor checked and replace if necessary.

I look them up in GM service manuals, but if you do a google search on the code you're looking for, you can usually decipher what it is.

drive it over to your local auto parts store, they usually offer a free service to test various sensors. They should have a handheld tester that they can plug in and quickly tell if the sensor is good or not.
