I have a opportunity of picking up a LS2 engine with only 7k miles on it. I'm near certain I can't use the procharger that is currently on my 2004 C5 and will need to get another one. Wanted to see if I did get the LS2 motor could it handle more boost than what I have know?

Untouched stock, about 6-8psi with a conservative tune (You do not want detonation).
With Forged pistons and rods about 15psi before your heads start lifting and you start seeping combustion gasses into your cooling system.
Your blower should bolt on just fine. You do not need a new setup.

If you want to feel the hp down low, I wouldn't go with a centrif blower like a procharger. You need to spin that to about 3,500-3,800 to really feel it kick in at 7-8 lbs of boost; the safe upper limit of a non forged engine. If you forge the engine and run 15-16 lbs of boost, you will have a monster which will spool up faster and kick butt. The down side is that a high boost motor will need a separate fuel system, else it will run lean at 5,000+rpm($1,800 plus install) and additional cooling upgrades, meth, sep oil cooler and radiator. My D1sc puts out 740 rwhp, but without the cooling and fuel pump upgrades is an accident waiting to happen.

The cheaper & for most street applications "better" option is to go with an APS twin turbo. You can alternately go with a maggie or kenne bell. If your planning to road race or do HPDEs frequently skip FI all together. You will have big heat issues. For 1/4 fun, FI is great.

Good luck.
