I always feel bad when I drive my car in the rain. So wanted to see how many of you will drive your Vette in the rain?

You know what, no - try not to drive in the rain. Now have I driven in the rain? Many times. I try to avoid if I can.

We get afternoon monsoon season here in NM, where it's beautiful in the morning, then rains in the afternoon. So, nah, it's no big deal.

The big deal is the standing water in the roads because our street system can't take care of it.

Water in the engine = VERY bad news!

I much prefer no rain....She's a weekend only car...and even with moderate winters here in TN, she may be parked for the coldest months.

My present C5 and past C4 and my upcoming C6 will always be "Daily Drivers" - lifes to short to not to enjoy your vette everyday - rain or shine, winter and summer!

Its just a car, I have driven mine in rain and managed to get the car to the mountains during the winter months for skiing. Granted last year I would just meet my friends up in the mountain, hoping to figure out way to get my gear fastened to my vette for this years season?

Ive got almost 100K on this thing. It is a DAILY driver.

I take it everywhere. Always have, always will.

These things were made to be DRIVEN.

I always drive in the rain. I have:wtf: :wtf: NEVER had ANY issues with convertible top leaking, nothing, ever. The water, snow, ice, nothing has ever hurt it. These things are tough. I thought we all knew that?

"Garage Queens" is right. :wtf: :willy_nilly:

Whew!

Don't know about some of you guys (Spdkilz  ) but my car came with the waterproof paint option!

Just kidding around. I do agree with a lot of you all though, it's a car and it's meant to be driven. If it rolled off the factory line, then it should be built to handle anything, especially an occasional rain shower. Now snow/salt on the other hand...I stay away from that in the Z. I already put one LS1 car in a wall because of freezing temps, no need for another  But as they say, "To each, his own."

You should check out this guy from SCA on CorvetteForum.com

He just put 300,000 miles on his 1998 C5. Talk about a daily driver! He also posted pics.

Pretty amazing. As you said 'to each his own"

I cant let weather stop me. It's really my ONLY ride. I do live in Cali, things dont get too crazy too often. I can relate to the 'always having bad tires' I go through back tires like a S.O.B. It just slows me a bit around corners when its wet, and then I just keep my eye on the "active handling" warning. Let's me know when Im pushin the envelope a bit.

Seriously though, I think every Vette owner should see that post on the "just turned 300,000" Its pretty much a confidence booster.

Peace my brotha's :p

Yeh I've been very busy trying to put this all together. Accidents happen, and actually its been fun working on this car. Its been expensive but there are a few upgrades that have been going back into it.

Its a car, it will survive the rain. Now I don't horse it of course in the rain. But have been known to have some fun in parking lots around Texas! :burnout:

I am new to the sight and I have had my c5 since Sept.07. I have always wanted a corvette since I was little. I drive mine rain or shine the way I figure is you can't take it with you when your in the ground.
