Hey guys! I'm the owner of a black 89 Corvette, and I'm loving it! My only problem is this kid in late model trans am. Every time i go anywhere this kid wants to race, and he brings a big crowd. I know i can beat him. i've done it twice. but right before we race he smokes his tires like crazy. my Vette is an auto and i can't smoke the tires and stay in the same place. please help me put this trans am 6 feet under. what can i do?:1zhelp:

Holding the brakes partly down while hitting the gas pedal works well. Just don't do it too often and don't push that burn if you start feeling any bouncing of the real wheels. The fronts will lock the back will still spin.
Is there any particular reason that you hate your tire so much to even concider this kid worth the cost of new ones?

Basically the only feasable (and safe) option is to install a line lock on your front brakes. It's a solenoid valve that holds pressure to the front brakes keeping them locked while the rear brakes are released allowing the rear tires to spin. I know Mr. Gasket makes one, and there are several others as well. You apply your brakes, push and hold down a button, then release the brake pedal and proceed with your burnout. My question is, if you've beat this kid twice already, why waste your time proving what's already been proven? Is he just a glutten for punishment? But of course, putting him in his place IN FRONT of all his friends would definitely be worth the time!

I get people wanting me to light up my tires where ever I go. It starts driving me nuts. Anyone can smoke their tires, the most impressive part of the ZR-1 is not the ruining of expensive (and becoming very hard to find) rear tires but the acceleration. Don't they think my 450 hp car will give an impressive smoke show?

Why ruin a good set of tires and possible your engine, just give him the full hand wave if you know what I mean.:chillpill:
