Has anyone read anything about these guys/brand? Heard through the grape vine of this 3 ltr blower that does not need an aftermarket hood??

that is pretty interesting indeed, and not to have to change the hood is going to make alot of people happy!

Hmm. Interesting. Wonder if it has any of the issues that other screw blowers have?

Now that would be pretty cool if one didn't have to get an aftermarket hood. Then you would have a pure "sleeper"!

Yeah, I thought those set ups were pretty efficient.

Maybe the supposed limits that that type of blower has on the top end?

Screw blowers have an internal compression ratio unlike roots blowers which compress inside the manifold. So since they are constantly compressing even at idle their air charge temperatures tend to be a lot higher at lower air volumes.

However at high air volumes they tend to be more efficient with less heating of the air charge with boost. They are most efiicient above 10 PSI boost.

Good info DTS, I know alot of people are in the dard when it comes to the different FI setups! I am still learning!!

I have had the opportunity to do some research on this unit. It's not their first rodeo and my opinion is they have a winner.

We have been behind the scenes at Saleen for over 10 years. EVERYONE involved in engineering of of saleen's sc unit for that time is here minus one. Our goal is to produce a product that will change the way people view superchargers. All we can do is try to perform and let the public make their own decisions. It is coming and we hope you enjoy. We are now a sponor, so any question, please ask

Are you guys having a car show this weekend? Any Vette prototypes there? I was at a customer of mine who makes some parts for you guys and he told me about the show. Can't wait to see the results!

:iagree: ??? How does this compare to the Magnuson blower?

Our unit is a reverse-revolution twin screw supercharger, front air inlet, heat exchanger, water pump....

magnusson is a great product and there is enough for everyone. We will not get into a comparison. Once our product is completed we will let our customers answer that

Spiral04,
We are having a car show tomorrow. You can go to our website for address and more info www dot techcointl dot com. We are located in Anaheim right next door to West Coast Corvettes!! The show is going to be huge!! We already have a ton of cars and a 1/2 dozen off-shore ciggarette boats in our 155k sqft building. If you are local and arent busy. . . tell all your friends and come check out what we are up too!!

Any photos to post or details on the Corvette kit?

400HPC6,
We will post all info, pics and data when the kit is finished in the near future. Stay tuned. . . .

However at high air volumes they tend to be more efficient with less heating of the air charge with boost. They are most efiicient above 10 PSI boost.

That's actually highly inaccurate if a bypass valve is integrated as with the Magnacharger. The larger the displacement of the charger...the slower it rotates...the less friction affects air temps. Additionally the screw technology suffers from far less compression heating in the pinch areas than a traditional lobe or high helix lobe roots blower. The actual facts are that a screw charger is far more efficient and runs cooler than other positive displacement designs. We have literally hundreds of hours of testing these.

Don't forget also that the screw blower doesn't fall off like a roots blower on the top end and this is due mainly to its efficiency both adiabatic and in its boost retention abilities.

Never in my years of experience and thousands of hours has any screw blower had cooler IAT's than a Maggie in normal driving - or especially at/near idle.

The screw blower is a constant compressor and does all of it's compressing inside the blower case whereas the the Maggie/Roots style is simply an air pump unless there is a restriction to the inlet or outlet. The compression of a Roots style happens in the manifold, not the blower case as in a screw blower. So you are always dumping compressed air into the intake manifold bypass or not.

You are correct that at higher boost (10+ PSI) the screw is much more efficient though. The average guy who bolts on a blower to his stock engine is not going to generally push past 8 PSI where the Maggie/Roots are most efficient.

Let me give you one more "food for thought" moment: I had the wonderful opportunity to work on a K/B 3L unit on an LS motor. IAT's at idle were higher than coolant temp and it had a HUGE bypass... :duel:

what are your pricing and do you have any videos, dyno runs, pictures? Dragon is another company that offers a 3.0L supercharger that fits under the stock hood, there supercharger sells for $6500 and they acheive good numbers

Techco is officially out of business. We had one of the two Techco supercharger systems that were actually sold in the shop for a check of the tune & overall installation after they closed shop.
