I have a 2003 Corvette C5 that has been acting up. Over the last few weeks when I start the car up the lights come on and tell me to service the ABS and Traction Control System??
Today I just noticed if I shut the car off get out and lock, then get back in and start the problem goes away till the next time the car has been sitting for few hours?? Should I call for an exorcist or what? Any ideas on what to do here?

Did you try to pull the codes? With the codes it will be easier to give opinion on what is wrong?

Have you recently tried to run the car hard without turning off traction controll? As was said, knowing which codes are stored will be very helpfull. If you like, feel free to give me a call and I can tell you how to check your codes by pressing buttons on the dash, that way you save a trip to the dealer.

This is probably going to be the EBCM (electronic brake control module). It goes out on every C5 eventually. You can go to absfixer.com to get it rebuilt for a couple hundred bucks, or you can take it to chevy and they will charge you about a thousand dollars to replace it. I'm not kidding. I've already done this on mine, and it really is a simple DIY. But first we have to see if the magic code comes up, so pull those codes!
You can pull the codes yourself:
Turn the ignition key on, but don't start the car (actually I've done it with the car running, but it's recommended to not do that).
Hold down the OPTIONS button and press the FUEL button four times. You're now in diagonstic mode. It should run through any and all codes. You can play with the buttons to scroll through them once it's done flashing everything. Write them all down. Any code with an "H" in it means that it's history, that it happened at some point and probably isn't a problem unless it comes up again. You can press the RESET button to clear those. Post the codes that come up and we'll see if we can't help you out a bit more.
