: LS7 Tuner
jmott 10-26-2007, 02:05 PM Anybody heard of or have the Diablosport "predator" for the ZO6 (LS7) engine. I have a cold- air intake and exhaust on my 06' Z, and was thinking of purchasing an "apparent" bang for the buck upgrade like a programmer. DiabloSport has a product for this, but I thought I would ask around and see if anybody has had first hand experience with it (or knows someone who is either happy, or unhappy with it or one similar to it). Thanks a bunch- hope all is well with everyone.
Best Regards,
JMott

Tried the Diablo programmer on another car of mine, ok results, brought the same car to actual tuner, much better results. Sold my Diablo on ebay! Look around most will recommend that you have a tuner take care of your $70,000 car rather than a $400 handheld!
espz06 10-26-2007, 03:33 PM If you can't find a good tuner shop to do it, then you need to pony up the big bucks and get either HPTuner or LSedit. Those are the two big boys of hand held tuners (actually they both use laptops, I believe). I've only played with a HPTuner, and it's amazingly complicated, which is why if you don't have much time or inclination to learn a LOT, it's worth finding someone GOOD in your town!
I've heard that the rest of them are basically crap, but I don't know that for a fact! Don't quote me on that one! :D

This is good advice, in fact even if the HPTuner or EFILive software is to complicated for you to use, it will give your tuner the ability to email changes back and forth to you to download into your car. We offer this service at no charge if you buy your EFILive through us.

Thats good to see the support. But would you want your car being the "first" for a tuner who doesn't know the complexity of these GM cars?

no, I wouldn't want a shop to learn to tune on my car, and that isn't what I'm suggesting. If a person buys a single license EFILive to tune their own car with, then if they get stuck we can help them figure out what's wrong, and make changes via email.
This is very helpful for people who live off the beaten path, and don't have easy access to a tuning/dyno shop.

That makes sense, at least there is some support behind it.
