Are you saying the transmission lost 2nd gear. If yes ,The 700R4 trans uses the same band for 2nd and 4th gear. Did you lose 4th gear too? This 2/4 band is one of the biggist problems with the 700R4 trans, If theres low miles on the trans the front pump can be removed and the band replaced in about and hour, Thats after the trans is removed from the car. Check the 2/4 servo on the pass side of the trans for bad seals at the same time. If it,s just running out of power at 4000 RPM,s that sounds like low fuel presure, Does it do it in every gear or just 2nd? Was the fuel filter stopped up? Any water is the gas?
