UPDATE
Guy at work (career military retired) mentioned that this airplane (a C141B):

is the famous Hanoi Taxi.
Was to be decomissioned and broken up; but a group got together and arranged to have it kept intact and put on display at the USAF Museum.

Yvonne was driving and it was a perfect weather yesterday; so decided on a quick visit to the US Air Force Museum today to use the new camera.

What is always nice about this place is the people there are extremely nice. You see kids point to an airplane, and during the response you seem to always hear the dad/mom add something positive about our military might.
Although we didn't go inside; my most favorite displays are the items from WW2 and Vietnam POW's... the things they made & wrote - just to keep their sanity while in that situation.
