I am going to lead the group from the Fredericksburg area and points south to Front Royal for the cruise on the morning of the 25th.

The cruise starts at 10:30 AM and it is about a 1.75 hour drive to Front Royal from the new Target in Falmouth (just off I-95 on Rt. 17) which would make a good meeting/starting point. I am planning on leaving Target at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning.

Here is the information about the Cruise itself:

This fall's Skyline Drive Cruise, which will actually include Skyline Drive this year is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th. As in the past, we will meet at the used car lot of Jack Evans Chevy on Commerce Ave. in Front Royal. Registration will begin at 8:30 AM and we will be departing for the cruise at 10:30 AM. Exact cruise route as yet to be determined...

We have these hotels and rates until October 10, 2008:

Holiday Inn and Resort $129.00 per night. They have golf and spa packages available. Phone 540-631-3050

Quality Inn across from Jack Evans $ 63.99 per night. Rooms have been remodeled. Phone 540-635-3161

We are planning the meet and greet on Friday night at Houlihan's in the Holiday Inn and Resort at 6:30 p.m. on 522 north of Front Royal about 3 miles out of town.

This cruise will once again benefit Toys for Tots. Registration will be $15.00 or a new, unwrapped toy per Corvette. Pre-registration through 10/17/08 will be $12.00 per Corvette.

We went to Skyline yesterday and there is already a lot of color. Nowhere near peak yet and traffic wasn't bad at all. You may get more color on the 25th.

Watch out for the rangers. They were out in force.

Based on the fact it looks like rain, I will not be cruising up with you. I don't take my baby out in inclement weather. Additionally, my daughter decided to come home fm college this weekend.

I will also not be able to make it. To many "Honey-Do's" Have a great time!

Wayne, I talked to Chris this am we will be meeting up with you. Right now looks like us three form this way. I haven't heard from anyone else, have you??

I can't believe the BS the NPS is pulling. I am sure you have read the post from Jim.

However if we all went up their they could not stop us from going in. All we would have to say is we are just sightseeing and havent been up on the mountin in a while. That National Park belongs to everyone.

Wont be making it this year either.... still in Vegas and dont fly back til tomorrow! Hope the weather is nice, last two times i went was raining.
