I'm still looking. 2004 Z06 shows 400hp and the C6 shows 400hp, is there any pro's and con's going with one over the other? I would like to have a Z06.

It really depends on the body style you prefer. The '04 Z is the best C5 made.I personally like the look of the C5 better than the C6.But if I had the money I would purchase a new C6Z.The C6 Z looks a lot better than the C6 coupe.

They are all great cars.

I agree that the C5 Z06 is tremendous looking and obviously less $$$ than the C6 Z06.

The C5 Z06 will out perform the C6 coupe. It's about 300 lbs lighter, has better suspension. The C6 Z06 is at the top of the heap however, it's lighter, has wider tires and more hp.

For performance, looks and value the C5 Z06 is hard to beat.

I was in this boat a few months ago, deciding what Vette to buy a C6 or I had the opportunity to get a 2004 Z06. I like how the Z06 look over C6 body. Would love to have the funds to buy a new C6Z!

Good point, the C5 Z06 is lighter (I thought it was lighter by larger amount), either way you can't go wrong with either car!

I'm biased but I haven't seen any C6 Z06's that touch your car for "looks".

I have to agree, your ride is one of my fav's, the yellow really pulls it off, your set up, A-Z buddy! So you care to trade? :D

with the 04 Z06, you're getting the top of the line Vette from 3 yrs ago. The 400 HP C6 is the current base model. I think it comes down to personal taste, but dollar for dollar, the 04 Z06 would be the better car in my opinion.

I agree - love the C5 Hard Top look - I have a '99 FRC and love it - now if I just had the 405 (or more) HP..... Dream dream!!

Advice that has always served me well: Buy the cheapest house in the best neighborhood you can afford. Same kinda works with cars (except you won't make money like you do off real estate! :) )

The C6 Z06 is the top of the heap, until the new beast comes out.
The C5 Z06 is NEXT in line.
Then the stock C6's.
Then stock C5's, etc....

That, of course, is my humble opinion, ymmv. But for the price difference of a good C5 Z06 (I paid 25k for my 2002, and it was a smoking good deal, but you're looking at 25-35K) versus an entry level C6 (are the 35k yet? I haven't been paying attention, having too much fun with mine, the cheapest I found was 39k this summer), you can put that extra 10k + into a supercharger or other fun, depending on which way you swing, and still stay up with a C6Z. And that's a sweeeet feeling....

Agree. C5 Z06 with some select mods is hard to beat!
