My 2005 has typical rear end chatter on tight turns. Does the oil additive really resolve this problem and for how long?

Yes.
The two part number axle lubrication drain flush and refill works.
Some Corvettes may need this axle lubrication service twice.
One of the part number synthetic was increased in volume late last summer.
