My tach stopped working on my '95. Any ideas on what I should look for? I have checked everything I could think of and nothing?? When I start the car the needle seems to move in reverse and stays stable at 0 after that.

I have a 1990 with an accel ignition. I also have a tach problem. Mine is an intermittent low reading, normal, or inop. I do not know where or how the signal is generated or formed. Please contact me if you have more knowledge on this subject.

Sounds like you are having a problem with the vehicle speed sensor. If it is malfunctioning it shud set a DTC in the CCM #24?

I have a friend who will be coming over in couple weeks to help me find and fix problem. He is more mechanically incline than I am. So we will see, I'll let you know what we find.

If you put an MSD or any aftermarket hotter ignition you need to get rid of your tach filter. It is simple to cut and bypass it and your tach will work. If it just up and quits check gage fuses. I dont know about the speed sensor.
I dont have a grreat picture of where the tach filter is, but if you look at where the power steering cap is and above it towards the water pump is a little yellow wire crimp, well it is right about there. It is a little black bock about the size of a quarter with a black and white wire going in and out on the same side. Cut it.
