After lots indecision about what to do about the stereo in my 90'
ZR-1 I decided a stereo upgrade was in order. The bose system might have been great in 1990 but I find it hard to hear over my headers and flowmaster exhaust. Also one speaker blown in the front is blown and driving me nuts.
Anyway I went with an Alpine receiver unit. No CD but I wanted to plug my ipod right into the unit. I then decided on a digital 4 way apline amp. The speakers are 5" Focals in the front and 61/2 in rear.The system requires a complete rewiring, which is going to be the most expensive part. I went with 4 guage wire.
It will be great to be able to drive and listen to music without needing to crank an inferior system.

:smack: ,Don't think I haven't been stuggling with this decision. I however need tunes while driving and with this cars incredibly loud exhaust I can't hear a bloody thing. I'm making sure all parts will be kept so if I decide I want 2 go back I can.

The new system is in. It sounds amazing. The only thing that looks different is the deck. We ended up using 4" focals with the 61/2s in the back. The speakers fit in the the rear enclosers well. I love the ipod controls on the deck, and if I ever decided to go back I'd have no problems (not going to happen tho).

Its been a couple months after I put new stereo in my vette. I loved it so much since I decided to add similar stereo to my truck. I just bought the components today. Economic slow down can kiss my ***.:cheers:
