Have a 1997 C5 with 56,000 miles. My rear tires have about 0.07 measured to the wear bars across both sides of the tires. However the fronts show 0.12 to the wear bars on the outside and at the wear bars on the inside. Both right and left have the same wear patterns, the problem (?) is that the inside shoulder of the fronts have just about all the pattern missing??
I think its time to get new tires, but I was wondering with this kind of wear should I have the tire/alignment people looking out for something?

56k on a '97?? that is super low miles! Do you even drive the car? ;) I would bring the car to the dealer and have them do the alignment. Then you have nothing to worry about.

For a car that is 10 years old you will time to time need to make adjustments which include the alignment. Save yourself some $$ and bring it to a good performance shop rather than dealer.

If these are the stock tires you sure got your moneys worth. I know the front and rear tie rods start showing signs of where after 50,000 miles not to mention your ride is now 10 years old.Your averaging about 5600 miles a year which I think is pretty good for a sports car
