: First Try of my Ultimate Detailing Machine!
DChamp 09-10-2008, 02:36 PM Well, today was the perfect day, about 65 degrees, nice cool breeze, so I broke out the UDM and found a section of my 2007 Toyota 4Runner that needed help, and here's a few pics:
BEFORE (note scratches beneath my sneakers)

And after (note where my feet are in both pictures)

First, I used TheDetailDude's Foundation Formulation Polish (and right then you could see and feel the difference), then moved on and put a coat of TheDetailDude's Platinum 44 Wax. At this point, the paint was POPPING! I finished it off with some Zaino 8 Grand Finale Spray Seal. The difference is outstanding as I hope you can see.
I pretty much did a door and a quarter panel in 30 minutes. I took my time, following the video instructions of JunkMan with how to put it on, and take it all off.
Many thanks to The Detail Dude and to JunkMan!

Yep, it's my orbital polisher and it's outstanding!
Here's a link to TheDetailDude's site where I bought it:

*LOL* When I get a tripod bud! I'm not as "hooked up" as you are. You obviously have done that many times.
I did try ONE video, just to show what I was using. It's not very good, but here it is (First time video people, please forgive the goofiness of it!)

Sword 09-11-2008, 09:47 AM Very Nice! I see you're experimenting on a Toyota instead of your vette.

*LOL* Wouldn't you? This is my first time with a polisher... so I want to get the process down pat before I turn it loose on my Vette!

:D I did the same thing especially when I was learning to use a rotary. It will be hard to mess up your paint with a random orbital polisher but it's good to get experience with it.

Thanks Sword... I'm still learning!
