The first one I was expecting Flash Gordan to come stepping out of the car. The second one had a young John Edwards look alike in it. Both are funny considering the time period and looking back to the Attari / Regan era when I was probably 4 or so. I enjoyed them thankyou.:rofl:

If this stuff was all hype and blown out of proportion I'd say yeah, its tacky, but you know as well as I do (if you own one) it's all just plain fact reporting/advertising.

Looking at them now, compared to today's commercials, they do seem a bit tacky. However, did you notice that the whole commercial was about the car and NOT the available financing or warranties? Back then, which really wasn't all that long ago, the advertising was about the vehicle. They were always coming out with new gizmo's and gadgets that added to the WOW-factor of the car. Nowadays, all of the cars are the same with nothing new to create that WOW feeling. All they can advertise now is either how crappy their MPG "isn't" or how much you're going to have to pay to "be like everyone else".

The 80's overall were pretty cool!! This commercial is "corny" no doubt about that. Also did anyone take notice about the Corvette???the headlights "popped up" instead of "rolled 180 degrees...correct me if I am wrong...but did the 84 model have pop up headlights???? I thought all C4's had 180 degree roll around headlights???
Also how anybody could get excited about a "Chevette" is beyond me. Ahh!!!! those were more simple times!!!!

I hate to say it....for those of you growing up in this time period...2000 +...it will be very tough to look back and say "those were the good-ole-days!"..Not like the 80's any ways.
