Question How many have had dead battery in Corvette?

I was just reading a thread on battery chargers. Just curious of how many Corvette owners have had a dead battery in their Corvette?

Raise your hand if you have had a dead battery.

I have had a dead battery. Generator not working properly. But now I have an alternator in it, and no problems since. I used to live in Costa Mesa. Me and the vette got many miles in that city for the 5 years I lived there. I love your avatar, ha ha.

Dead battery in my Corvette

I never have a dead battery in my '82 because only the digital clock runs when the ignition is turned off. And as my headlights have a warning buzzer that sounds off when the ignition is turned off without turning off the headlights, my battery is always as hot as a pistol.

Mines been dead, usually because I don't put the tender on, thinking I'm gonna drive it sooner than I do.

My battery was dead when I first looked at the car on the dealers inside showroom. Dealer charged it and I drove away. Battery dies about 1 week later. Dealer replaced the battery. Only other time was when I pulled out all the interior to put in MaddVette's insulation kit. Guess it took longer than I thought....

I had a dead battery about a month ago. Charged it back up and it died again first time I drove it somewhere and shut it off. Battery was a little over 4 years old so I replaced it. No problems since.

Yes, I was outta town for a couple weeks, when I got back the battery was DEAD!!! I jumped it to get it started but put it on the Battery Tender for several days before it was actually "fully" charged.

But I've got a question regarding this. My car is a 2006 Z06. I can't get it to go into "Competition Mode" anymore, it will only do traction control on/off. And, when my doors are opened and closed, the window won't roll up. The windows roll down the 1/2" or so when the door is opened but won't roll back up the 1/2" to seal the window/door. Any ideas on either one of my problems?

Thanks,
Mitch

Mitch, the window issue souinds like you need to re-index them.

1. Close the door.

2. Raise the window and hold the switch up for three
seconds after the window is closed.

3. Release the switch, then hold the switch up again
for three seconds and release.
system.

As for the no Comp Mode, my guess is you need a new battery, so go have it checked out.
