Question Can door chimes be turned down?

Is there a way to turn down or off the chime volume from when the door is open on the car? I have a '05 and have looked from cover to cover in the manual hoping to find something on this topic. Nothing found?

Can this be done?

I'm not a fan of the chime either, especially when you are working on the car and need the driver side door open!

I don't know if would work the same on other C6 models, but on my 07 I open the door and flip the lock latch on the car to trick it and turn it off. But you have to remember to unlock it with the door handle switch before you close the door, otherwise it will probably damage the latch.
