STS Turbo’s new ZR7 Corvette

WARNING! STS Turbo’s new ZR7 Corvette has been sighted prowling the streets looking for food. The meal of choice for this asphalt pounding beast is the new ZR1. Apparently this ravenous twin turbo monster also has a taste for Italian and German delicacies as well – so no supercar is safe. With a 702 hp option available and upgrades from front to rear, STS Turbo has created the perfect Corvette weapon. The ZR7 knocks down an estimated 36 mpg for those road trips while relying on the huge twin turbocharged torque of the 6.2L engine to produce earth rotating force with a quick stab of the accelerator. To help transfer this massive power to the ground and keep the car planted in the corners, it is equipped with the same suspension set-up as the Pfadt Race Engineering Corvette that won the 2008 NASA National Championship. This fully adjustable coil-over and sway bar suspension allows for complete ride control to keep the car comfortable on the city streets but rigid on the track with G’s nearing the 1.2 mark on the skid pad and pounding the 1/4 mile in a lethal 10.8 seconds.

The aggressive good looks of the Kindig-It Design wide-body not only accommodates the huge footprint with its beautiful lines but has full race-ready functionality. The front splitter improves aerodynamics while forcing cool air through the huge intercooler and into the front brake cooling ducts. The ventilated hood pulls the heat out of the massive radiator and out of the engine bay for added reliability on those hot track days and, combined with the pro-style rear wing, provides more down-force for added stability at Autobahn speeds. The wide-body also features huge quarter panel ducts to feed the STS Turbo twin turbochargers and cool the rear brakes.

When it comes to slowing things back down, the huge Baer Extreme brake package features forged front and rear 6 piston mono-block calipers and two-piece cross-drilled rotors to significantly reduce un-sprung rotating mass and easily bring this street rocket back down to legal ground speeds. The massive 14″ front and rear rotors can handle track abuse while maintaining good manners on the street and are visible through the ZR7’s exclusive 3-piece forged wheels. These massive alloy rims measure 19×9.5″ up front and 20×12″ in the rear. They are available in chrome/black or in full chrome finish. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires which were specifically developed for the ZR1 Corvette, measuring P285/30ZR19 up front and P335/25ZR20 out in back.

The already ergonomic and stylish factory cockpit is upgraded with leather accent trim and a full set of gauges to keep an eye on all that turbocharged power. Other features include a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and twin-disc clutch that reduces drive-train mass while containing the massive turbocharged torque and making for easy rev-matched downshifts at the track. The Corvette’s notorious high power wheel-hopping launches have not only been solved with the suspension upgrades but finished off with Pfadt Racing’s urethane engine and transmission mounts.

For under $130,000 you get a ground-scraping street legal projectile that can hit 60 mph from dead stop in less than 3.5 seconds, with the tires still pleading for mercy. This is one high-tech wild ride! How wild? Just roll into the throttle on the freeway and it literally smokes the tires with a top speed of 220+ mph. This ain’t just another pretty show car!
