The Trinity also has the capabilty to control/communicate external devices such as the DiabloSport Extreme PowerPuck, DiabloSport EGT Module, and other third party analog devices. Let’s start out by explaining the physical properties of the Trinity.
Knowing your Trinity
- The Trinity’s touch Screen: All of your functions will be accessible from the Trinity’s touch screen. While the Trinity also has physical buttons on it, you will find it is just as easy to touch your screen as it will be to touch the buttons.
- Mini USB connection to update your Trinity: This port will also power it at your desk!
- Trinity OBD II Connector: This allows you to hook the Trinity to your vehicle for tuning and diagnostic functions.
- Trinity Analog I/O: For using aftermarket sensors such as wide band 02 or EGT in conjunction with your Trinity.
- SD Card Slot: Support for SD cards allows users to have extra data on their Trinity, to load files to and from the Trinity, or put updates on it!
- Trinity Buttons: With the Trinity facing the direction in the picture above, the round circle of buttons on the right are names as follows: Up, Down, Left, Right respectively, and then enter in the center. These buttons can be used instead of the touch screen to navigate through menus and select functions
- Screen buttons 1 and 2: The screen buttons allow you to quickly enter menu functions such as “back” or “edit” when prompted on the screen. Button one is the button on top, button two is on the bottom.
- Digital L.E.D.s: These programmable LEDs are designed for use with the virtual tree function, or as a shift light/gauge alarm. These lights can be turned on and off in the options menu.
Lets cover the main features of the Trinity. 4 of the main features which we will briefly cover are; Performance programmer, virtual gauge monitor, virtual drag strip, and diagnostic code reader.

The Trinity’s tuning options vary depending on the vehicle that is being tuned. Gasoline powered vehicles feature tunes based on minimum octane ratings while Diesels are based on Horse Power Ratings. By way of example, If you have a 2009 Corvette your options in the tuning menu might be: 93 Octane Performance tune, 91 Octane Performance Tune, and other CAI tunes; and a 2007 F-350 with a 6.0L PowerStroke might have the options of stock, 40 HP, 65 HP, and 100 HP. (Note:These options may not be the same in all models and can vary based on the current update of the tool). The DiabloSport Trinity also supports custom tuning and can hold an additional 5 custom tunes. Custom tunes can be obtained from one of the many hundreds of DiabloSport CMR (chipmaster revolution tuning software) dealers. The Trinity also contains the most adjustable parameters in the market including correcting your speedometer for tire size changes, shift firmness, speed limiters, rev limiters, and many more.

With over 100MB of on board memory devoted solely to recording and playing back diagnostic PID/DMR data, it allows users to record hours and hours of continuous data streams directly from the vehicle’s PCM/ECM. The Trinity interprets PID and DMR data received from the OBD-II Diagnostic port on your vehicle and converts it into a readable format: A Virtual Gauge! Individual user customization is one of Trinity’s most recgonizable features. With Trinity’s dynamic gauge layout there is literally an infinite number of combinations/customization of gauges to view! Users can even set up gauge alarms and shift points based on precise vehicle data and using the Trinity’s LED lights. Choose single led lights, multiple lights, or a progressive climb of the lights-you can customize everything!

Using parameters such as vehicle speed, peak torque, wheel speed and others, the Trinity is able to accurately compute quarter mile, 1/8 mile or 0-60 and 0-100 time trials. Keep in mind that these numbers may or may not be accurate depending on variables such as wheel spin, but they sure are fun to see! The Trinity’s virtual tree allows users to choose to either monitor their reaction time (like the real world) or have the tree start when they press the gas from a stop. There are advantages to both! If you are using reaction time, you will gain experience for the track when launching off the line while the motion start will show you the time less human error. It’s your choice as to which you prefer!

Trinity can also be used as a diagnostic code reader. Save yourself hundreds of dollars each year reading/clearing your own computer codes rather than paying a dealer to do the same. It’s as easy as a few simple steps. The DiabloSport Trinity’s diagnostic code reader function can be used on multiple Vehicles at any given time. Just remember, only one vehicle can be “tuned” at any given time.
