Style, Speed, and Handling all melt Perfectly with the 2010 Corvette C6
The 2010 Corvette C6 has done the impossible; made an American icon even better than it was. With Chevy quickly approaching the 60th anniversary of the Vette, the 2010 Corvette pays homage to the legend that is the Chevrolet Corvette and has come out with quite possibly the best C6 generation Vette yet.
Not as if the past few years of the Corvette were slow by any means, but the 2010 Corvette is ridiculous fast no matter what model you choose. The super car drives like it is on rails and is probably the most comfortable daily driver for anything even close to being so capable. The only drawback would be it somewhat lackluster interior, but as fast as these bad boys go the inte
rior will be but a blur as the car screams down the road or track.
The 2010 Corvette now comes standard with launch control on all manual transmission models. This little goodie takes all the guesswork out of putting out a superior acceleration time. One thing that certainly hasn’t changed though is the power of the Vette. The 2010 Corvette has power under the hood that ranges from blind fast to absurdly blind fast. The base model 6.2L V8 will crank out 430 horsepower and do 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.2 seconds.
While the 2010 Corvette C6 is an awful lot of car for the money the competition is certainly beginning to stiffen up. On the domestic front cars such as the Ford Shelby GT500 are strong and vastly improved. The foreign names plates are out there as well and for the price there is the all impressive BMW M3 which is not too much more than the new C6 and has a much nicer interior. But owning a Vette is owning a Vette and really there is no substitute.
To prove that statement Chevy decided to come out with an all new Grand Sport addition which is nothing less than spectacular. The 2010 Corvette Grand Sport replaces the now discontinued Z51 Sports Performance Package and Chevy couldn’t have done it any better. This hot model Vette is powered with the Vette’s LS3 engine and has a totally one of a kind styling paired with handling that feels like it was taken right out of a racing Vette and put into the street legal version.
The 2010 Corvette Grand Sport comes in both a coupe and convertible model and unlike the Grand Sport of 1996; this all new Grand Sport comes in a variety of color options. Of course there is no doubt that the Admiral Blue with the wide red stripe that pays tribute to the 1996 model is always a favorite.
The 6.2L engine on the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport produces an unbelievable 424 horsepower thanks to some handy retooling from the engineering department at GM. That number can go up to 436 horsepower with the addition of the optional two mode exhaust system. This is all paired with the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport having front fender stripes and vents, front and rear fenders that are wider, a tall rear spoiler, a Z06 style front splitter, alloy wheels unique to the model, Z06 sized tires and brakes, and specific gearing in the transmission and rear axles. When it is all said and done, the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport has nothing left out.
No matter what model of the 2010 Corvette you decide to go with you will get one of the most well equipped standard sports cars available. All Vette’s come with cruise control, keyless entry, keyless ignition, OnStar, leather seating, a six way power driver’s seat, and dual climate control just to name a few perks. The L2T package will see the 2010 Corvette C6 add Bluetooth technology and perforated leather seats with side bolsters and lumbar support.
Still not enough? Go for the L3T package and obtain a telescoping steering column with full manual tilting, a head-up display, Bose audio system, heated seats, and more. The 4LT package is similar but also adds a really cool two-tone leather interior.
For all the fuss over the state of General Motors these past couple of years one thing is abundantly clear; the Corvette is still going strong and in a big way. The 2010 Corvette C6 and the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport are proof positive that though the American car maker may be going through a rough patch there are no corners to be cut with this classic car that just keeps getting better with every passing year.
